Graco Travel Lite Crib – One Of The Best In Versatility, Portability and Affordability

First introduced to the public in 1987 in a design by Nate Saint, the Pack N’ Play Portable Playard is a portable playpen that parents love for its versatility, portability and affordability.  Its latest incarnation is the Graco Travel Lite Crib.

As many family and friends have attested, the travel crib is indeed lighter and smaller than the traditional Pack N’ Play Portable Playard weighing in at less than 20 pounds and approximately 20 percent smaller in dimensions.  Now, that is one travel crib that you can take to Grandma and the Grand Canyon without worrying about it not being able to withstand the rigors of traveling, as one reviewer puts it.

For our part, we usually just push a button to fold the travel crib and then stow it away in the car’s truck or in the back.  Once folded, it can easily fit into the handy carry bag so there should be no problem of straining your back just to transport it from one place to the next in your peripatetic life, no matter how temporary it may be.

And mind you, not all people do not exactly have a big car since they do not see the need for a sedan considering that they only have one child at present.  So, along with the umbrella stroller and other odds and ends of traveling with a baby, you can just place the Graco Travel Lite Crib and just go see Grandma or the Grand Canyon.

Yet another good thing about the light crib is that it can be transformed from a baby bassinet to a mini-play yard with a simple action of removing the bassinet.  Who can argue with that feature?  Definitely not the harried parents who must deal with keeping babies and toddlers entertained.

And speaking of entertainment, the indoor canopy features removable, soft toys that provides for a way to entertain the baby while you do something else.  For example, you can talk to Grandma for a bit while preparing baby’s milk bottle, all while knowing that the baby is playing safely in his/her travel crib.  Needless to say, the canopy is also intended to shield baby from the light..

The Graco Travel Lite Crib is primarily intended to provide a good sleeping environment for the baby and that is exactly what it does.  You will find that the quilted bumpers and the comfy quilted mattress are sufficient to provide a soft cushion for baby to sleep on.  Do not place baby with too many pillows lest suffocation become the cause of death.

There are two main complaints though, which have also been observed by many parents.  First, its small area quickly become too small for baby’s growing needs so much that it may not be of good value.  Second, it just sits too low to the ground that back strain is a possibility for many parents.

Despite these two cons, however, we can confidently recommend the Graco Travel Lite Crib as one of the best, if not the best, in its category.  For its price, it is definitely one good purchase.
